My son ordered a 08 Ultra about 5 weeks ago. Thesalesman Rich hasbecome what I consider a close friend over the past 18 months since I boughtmy 07Ultra. He told my son that he would ask for a color change on a Ultra that was coming in for stock and it would be shipped on May 2nd. He also told my son and I that it would probably come in the following Thursday. We got kind of worried by all the post saying their bikes didn't come in or the order was delayed by some reason or another.Well he was wrong on the day it came in, it came in the following Wednesday,, a day early. My son order a bunchof stuff to go on it and all those parts came in as well. The service department work on it all day Thursday and had it ready on Friday a day earlier than promised.
Well all I can say is thatis the kind of dealer and service that earns both my respect and money. My son picked it up Saturday and we rode most of the day. So many times I have read on this forum that some of us are unhappywith our dealers. I just want everyone to know that Mann's Harley Davidson in Edinburgh Indiana does what they say they will. They never told us what they thought we wanted to hear, just the facts. We were not disappointed as many have stated they were in their local dealer. Kind of makes me proud of my dealer. My songot a fair deal and service to boot. Just like it is suppose to be. Best part is my sons garage is not finished yet so I have his bike in my garage also. 2 Ultras and a Sportser. Two years ago I couldn't even spell Harley Davidson. I wish everyone had my kind of dealer working for them. By the way I am not related to the dealer or anyone that works there either.
You and your son are certainly fortunate to have such a dealer behind you. From most of the posts here and my personal experience very few and far between really give a s**t about their customers right after you leave a deposit. Although it is not fair to generalize I do sometimes find that even the slacker dealers employ some outstanding individuals that are great to deal with and stand out from the crowd. Hope you continue the strong bond with your dealer and give them the support they deserve.
I'm on my second bike from this dealership and concur 100%. Probably one of the best dealers in the country and Rich is, without question, one of the finest gentlemen I've ever met!
Mann's sets the bar by which other dealerships should be judged!
Never had a problem from my dealer, Petersons of North Miami, always up front and alway back up their work. Owner is available once a week atleast. Still does HOG rides at 80 years old.
I agree, they aren't all bad I have a very good dealer also. Great sales, service and a parts department that actually knows what parts are. Dillons Harley, Omaha Nebraska.
I agree that not all of the dealerships are good.. I will be honest and say before I bought my new bike I went to 5 different dealerships and only found one that was willing to even talk to me. How sad is that? Out of those 5 dealerships only one wanted to negotiate on the price. The others were trying to tell me that they are still selling over MSRP. I asked them if they were crazy? They of course stated no way these bikes sell themselves, I guess thats why no one wants to be salesman, a true salesman. You know like talk to people walk up and say the first words? Ask if customers need anything, or have any questions ect ect ect... well I will tell you I think I might have heard some negative comments on here about the dealership I got my bike from, but I have been VERY pleased with them, and they would be Chicago HD... like a old car commercial once said, "nice people to do business with." Happy to hear there are more good stories coming out than all negative like you normally hear...
Tell your son congrats on the new bike... hope your son loves his bike!!!
Hey, We were there on saturday!! Got there around 2:30 and looked around for about an hour then went next door to Max and Erma's for a bite before we headed back north.
