You'll love a bagger. I upgraded from an XL. In fact I still have it and ride it occasionally . . . very occasionally now that I have a RG.
Saw a new SG the other day. Black like my RG but with a lot more chrome. Love the floorboards. Wish I have em on mine.
Good luck and welcome to this forum. You'll find a ton of great info and people here.

You'll get lots of responses here telling you to go rent all the various models, ride them, and make an informed decision about what you really want.
That's probably good advice!
I was convinced that I wanted a Wide Glide.
I took a test ride and liked it.
I also like the look of a Road King.
I rented one and hated it.
Then one day I walked into the dealership just looking. I fell in love with a Streetglide, took it for a test drive, and pulled the trigger right there on the spot.
I'm still obsessed with it. I have never regretted the decision.
I also upgraded from a deuce, but mine was a 03' Screaming Eagle with the Gold100th anniversary Centennial package.....and I love that bike, so its stayed in the line up. The Street Glide I bought, because I like to do some soft touring, and the SG fit the bill perfectly. Besides I am getting a little older, and I thought the time had finally come for me to buy my first bike with a wind shield, bags, and a radio!
Yes people will tell you to pick tow or three bikes to choose from....test ride/rent each one and then decide......I did just that. You dont need to....the Street Glide wins hands down.....its definitely the sportiest bagger in the land.
Went from a 100th anniv. fat boy to an 06 street glide. The only part I hate was that
I sold my fat boy without a need to should had kept it also, money was not an issue.
Street glide is the best all around bike not too bulky, great lines and definetly you can do touring just like anybody else.
You will be shocked at how nimble the Street Glide is (as are theElectra Glide and Road Glide);and, how comfortable the Glidesare for long distance riding without the wind buffeting. You may also wonder how you rode without tunes for those four years.
I went from a Super Glide to a Road King Custom to a Street Glide! You'll love having a bagger. I was afraid the bagger would be too big after the Super Glide, but the touring bikes are actually easier to maneuver and ride ... not to mention a lot more comfortable! It's been a move I have never regretted! And I'm a 5'5" female!!
