Default "Newbie" Maintenance Question

Sent out a few e-mails (2 months ago) to a few area dealers looking for an estimate on the following:
1) 10,000 mileService Check
2) Synthetic Fluid Changes
3) 2 new tires (back tire more than front... but why change just 1).

I received my monthly "rewards" newsletter from one dealer, so I replied with a question about why their Service team hadn't responded to my service question. The young lady forwarded my reply (copied me) directly to the General Manager. I received a phone call the next day (which I didn't return) and then another one today (someone got busted).

Anyway... they will come out and pick up my '05 Ultra (free) and either deliver it back or keep it in warm winter storage for free. I like the warm winter storage option, but that doesn't leave me with any accessorizing season (Illinois).... so I'll have to think about that. Here's the deal:

1) 10,000 mile service check (all three fluids with Scream'n Eagle Synthetics because the bike has synthetics), hard clutch adjustment (needed since the previous owner played with the clutchfor his Shriner parades), fork fluid, and re-torque of all bolts.
2) $170 new rear tire (needed) $140 front tire (not so needed.. but what the heck).
3) They'll bring an enclosed trailer 20 miles to pick up my bike and either bring it back or put it in their heated, 2nd floor storage for free.

Total cost: $700

Deal or No deal?

That's not out of line for the dealer. I wouldpurchase better oil than Harley's. Other than that it sounds good.

I was thinking Amsoil or Redline (from posts I've read), but I'm a casual rider at 3000-5000 miles a summer. The dealer told me if I brought in my own fluids, they'd use them. Is the "Scream'n Eagle" brand that bad? I'll gladly bring in my own if recommended through this forum.

The service manager at my HD dealer told me to use Amsoil rather than the HD stuff. He told me that it is better lubing and runs cooler. That says a lot since they dont sell Amsoil (he could be in deep chit for telling me this) and the Amsoil is cheaper!!!

Seems inline with what you'd expect to pay around the NY area. Don't know for sure 'cause never use them.
Should learn to start doing some of your own service, you'll save big money and know it's actually been done.
I wouldn't let any dealer store my scoot. Too many things can happen accidently to it.
As for fluids, I use Amsoil 20-50w in crank, Redline Shockproof heavy in tranny, and formula+ in primary.

Ride safe!

Pricing doesn't seem out of line. I prefer Amsoil products. Bring "her" home for the winter; even if you don't accessorize, you can still visit with her and dream of warmer times.

Thanks... looking like Amsoil and keeping her in my garage.
More "opinoins" appreciated... I want this bike to be right.
