Bought the one from eglidegoodies. I get more stations than I used to. I have to find a better ground. Sometimes when I hit the brakes the radio gets scratchy. But a great improvement over my shorty
I got an amplified antenna from Crutchfield Electronicsfor around 20 bucks. You can check it out by clicking here.
It works well, although AM is not as good. It is not as good as the Stock Whip Antenna for AM but it does the job. FM and Weatherband work perfectly.
I did a write up on my Blog about the Antenna that you can read by clicking here. You will have to scroll down in the article to where it says: "What to do with the Stock Whip Antenna?" to read my review of the hidden antenna.
I like Crutchfield because they have good customer service, they ship quick, and they will allow you to return the part if it does not work.
With my removable tour pak setup the hidden antenna was the only way to go!

Just read your Blog on installing your tourpak. Great stuff. Funny thing is I just did the same thing on my bike just a few days ago. Took a lot of courage to drill those 14 holes in a brand new tourpak. I got by a little cheaper however. I bought an aftermarket copy on Ebay for just over $300. It's a fiberglass exact copy. Also bought the rack and backrest on ebay. Have $570 total into mine not counting the mounting hardware.

I just moved the bracket down to the next available position, ran the whip up under the seat and tank. No cutting no problem and I still get good reception.
