Today is MOnday here in Oklahoma. Worst power outage in State history. There is anywhere from 1/2" to 1" of ice on everything and more coming in for the next couple days. It looks like every tree and power line for 200 miles are laying on the ground. Generators are at a premium.
Wow that ice storm is nasty. I have an employee of mine moving to OK just north of Oklahoma City and they just got back. Said it was the worst they had ever seen. I guess that's why I chose to leave England 27 years ago and live in the perpetual sun of southern Cal!
Yep. Rode today and will the rest of the week, next week, and until it rains again. It's 41* in the morning here, and about 63ish in the afternoon. My ambient temp gauge was spot on this morning, afirmed from accuweather.com. I had my leathers on(heavy lined jacket and chaps), uninsulated deerskin gloves, boots, helmet withno beanie under it, and nothing on my face.
I was plenty warm, all but my chin and cheeks. They were stinging and killing me before I got out of the neighborhood. Bandana or schampa comes out tomorrow. OK. Flame on...
Bloody hell! Reminds me of a ride I took to Berlin from Belfast in February 1977. Temp was about -16 degrees and I froze my bollocks off, but at least I can say I did it! Now at age 48, I tend to be a bit more of a fair weather rider.........nothing cooler than freezing and only will ride in rain that does not resemble a monsoon!
Yes and it was 28 degrees when I started to ride. 57 miles from home in the wonderful state of New Jersey, route 46,it started to hail. Made it home OK. roads were just wet.
Got to love that Corbin heated seat. Not to mention Gerbing heat vest and gloves.
