I have riden to work at 14 degrees a number of times... Right now it is 15 degrees, and it got up to 29 (feltlike 17), then blowing snow most of the day.... Worked on my kids house... not much reason or desire to brave the cold today. Had my share of cold riding earlier this week....
Yep. Rode today and will the rest of the week, next week, and until it rains again. It's 41* in the morning here, and about 63ish in the afternoon. My ambient temp gauge was spot on this morning, afirmed from accuweather.com. I had my leathers on(heavy lined jacket and chaps), uninsulated deerskin gloves, boots, helmet withno beanie under it, and nothing on my face.
I was plenty warm, all but my chin and cheeks. They were stinging and killing me before I got out of the neighborhood. Bandana or schampa comes out tomorrow. OK. Flame on...
Still ridding...everyone at work thinks I'm nuts. Especialy when I tell them I have my truck at home. It's colder now...high 30's and mid 50's...but we are supposed to hit 29tonight. BURRRRR
I'm currentlytrying to workup the ***** to ride tomorrow with my new 8" windshield.[&:]
To Vettedog and Moondog, if you guys are ever in the BR area give me a shout. We're at the BRHD shop nearly every Saturday morning at around 8:45. I drink free coffee and watch my buddies eat donuts. Couldn't ride today, entertaining out-of-town relatives. Rest of the week looks iffy, not cold but good chance of rain. Need to ride, last time being last Saturday.
Rode 58 miles today with the wife. 45 degrees. Some salt on the rode and now I have to find a way to clean the bike. At least when its really cold rust don't start!
