I need some help fairly quickly. I am looking at a fairing on ebay for my police road king. the fairing is birch white so I'm assumming it came off a police electra glide. how would this fairing attach to my bike. it looks like the only thing holding it on would be the headlight. what am i missing here? thanks in advance for the help.
If it's an OEM fairing then you'll have to make up your own brackets.. Most just the windshield brackets that come with your shield and modify as needed... Then by the time you add or fill all the gauage holes, radio and speakers NOT to mention Color Matching Paint... You're not really going to save a ton of $$$ in the long run
Would HIGHLY recommend you just get a aftermarket fairing made for your RK like DrangonFly Concept or others... There paint is dead-on and there Systems are awesome...\
Might also try a search as this has been covered many times in the past...
if the fairing (Mid 80s H-D) has internal brackets attached it likely will attach quickly to the mounts where your stock windshield attaches by removing the acorn nuts and installing. if the fairing is from a later electraglide installation may be difficult. what's the ebay number?
if you are looking at 200180806288, that's an outer fairing that would require a lot of fabrication. i don't see an earlyeasy install listed anywhere today. i got one last year for $200 and it took two minutes to install and i still can use my standard RK shield when i want.
Thanks for the info. That was the fairing. I will pass on it. I'm guessing what I am looking for in a fairing is one that installs with the same brackets as my windshield?
depends on what year it is i have a 70 model flh bat wing fairing that i had on my 01heritage it hooked up directly to my original quick disconnect mounts the brackets cost about 300 dollars thy might fit the road king not sure but i have the whole setup for sale complete with radio & speakers custom fitted in to back side of fairing
