Curious, why do folks put a fairing on a Road King. Is it only to have tunes, for looks or does it afford other advantages over a good windshield. I am on the fence, I really don't listen to music while riding.
Did it for the wind protection.I had a 05 Electra Glide that I should have never gotten rid of.I did not realize this until I put a Woody's Fairing on my 06 Road King.I went w/ the non audio version as I don't listen to music when I ride either. All I like to hear is the humm of my Thunderheader exhaust....LOL The full fairing also is a help on long road trips......you will be less tired than if you were behind a regular RK windshield.
After my first ride in 20' weather my hands were about frost bit. I swore I would get a fairing for better hand protection. The tunes and the looked are nice bonuses.
I really wanted a radio, but once I installed my Dragonfly I noticed the wind protection is alot better. I also hate the look of a windshield on my bike. So far its worth every penny.
I hate fairings-that's just me. I put LeatherPro lower fairings on and a 22" CeeBailey windshield. For tunes Zumo 665 w/XM and Rumble Rad Ultras, I swapped out the speakers for Polk Audio speakers.
