29592-05 I think is a part # for a Heavy Breather for earlier yr.
Thanks Trock I will look into this.
That PN is for 99 and later Dyna, Softail, & Touring models....but is not street legal. The newer one PN-29253-08 is street legal, but is only for the 08' Touring models.
I have S/E Heavy Breather part# 29592-05 on my '07 RG. I think HD discontinued this part# becauase they added the rain sock to the kit and raised the price $20. I still have the box at home and can check to see if it lists what years that part# is compatible with.
The main difference in the HD part and the Forcewinder part is the filter element itself. The HD one is huge and more round. The Forcewinder is smaller and more oval shaped.
Here's a pic of the one on my bike with the rain sock on. It has a big Screaming Eagle logo on it, but I turned that toward the engine.
Guys I am really digging the Heavy Breather air cleaner, but my dealer is telling me that it is only for 08 and later. Is that true, I thought I saw it in a parts book last year and it would fit my 04 RG. Can anyone please confirm that I can use it, and if you have the part number I would appreciate it.
Thanks
that is not correct, they do make for earlier years....as others have stated.. i just ordered one for a guy 2 days ago...
? for the rest of you with them, does it give you more or less leg room? do you think the sock is enough protection in long days of rain?
biz...you sure about it being street legal only for '08 Touring models. Harley's website came up with 4 hits on that part number...all street legal for '08 touring, softail, dyna and sportster

I think the question was do they make them for earlier yrs. Yes they do. I think you better look at a lot of stuff that says not street legal that HD sells. You might be surprised! Thanks for the Info.

Hey Rob - I have only had my sock for a few weeks and haven't been caught in the rain with it, but I did wash the bike not long ago and the filter element was dry when I got done. I think it would be fine unless you get caught in an all day torrential down pour, but then nothing is probably going to help at that point.
I did get caught a couple of times, before I had the sock, in bad down pours that lasted around an hour. Bike ran fine with the element exposed to that kind of water. When running at any kind of speed, the amount of water that can sit on the filter and soak it is pretty minimal I think.

saweet, been considering one with my new build... got to sit on one and see if its in my way ...
I originally ordered the Heavy Breather. Found out it was on back order and would be 6 more weeks to come in. This meant that it would be at least 6 weeks before they could intstall my Rinehart 2 into 1 and dyno the bike. So I opted to cancel the HB and went with the Screamin' Eagle AC. The price difference was enough to buy the touring front lowering kit and have it installed. Also I had concerns about leg room with the HB. Has anybody noticed any crowding with the HB?
