Default OT - Cellphone Question

I know this is the touring section, but this is what I consider my "home" so I wanted to post this question here.

Has anyone used a Motorola Q on the Verizon network?

I'm thinking about getting one, but I wanted to get some feedback on them before making the change.

I'd like to find a good used one for cheap money, I'm in the middle of a 2-year commitment and I'm not due for a new phone for another year............so if I go thru Verizon I'd be paying full retail.

Any feedback and info would be great.

Thanks,

Steve

eBay is about your only choice. Make certain it states Verizon. That is crucial.

I might be wrong but all the kids now a days(I learn alot from) will take almost any cell fone they can steal oops I mean happen to find and break the code. Search the web on interchanging phones and dig a little deeper for there codes.

I have a friend with a Q, but not sure if he's on Verizon. I know he likes the device though. Verizon has some cool service options, like V-Cast and the music identifier.

I probably won't use all the features of the Q, but I do want the full keyboard for texting.

My current phone is the G'Zone..........waterproof, drop-proof, vibration-proof...........it's a tough phone that is built to military standards.

I have had the Q and found it to be a good phone and email device. It's form factor (thin and wide) never quite fit my hand though. I moved from that to a Blackberry 8703e which was perfect. The Blackberry is a great phone and excellent email/txt device, but the browser is poorly done. When my Verizon contract expired last month, I moved over to AT&T so that I could try the iPhone; at last I have found the motherlode! The iPhone is superb as an email/txt/internet device, and is excellent as a phone, being limited only by AT&T's "average" network coverage.

Verizon's network is by far the best in the Atlanta area (YMMV). For their network, the Blackberry was the best choice for me and they are readily available on eBay for a couple of hundred dollars.

if you text alot, and get the typical hysterical video clips... but do not need the other features... dont get the Q or any data phone for that matter...as it will cost you 30 dollars more a month for the data plan...

theres a new one out full keyboard, touch screen when closed... it is saweet..it was on display but none were at store... its an LG which is a good name, and it is old style as far as texting and such, meaning you would not have to pay the data plan

my pearl is way to small but in a few months the larger one will have a camera, currently the pearl does but larger one doesnt, when it comes out i will upgrade to it.

Don't have any personal experience with the Q, but know that in my company that is one of the few PDA type phones that is NOT allowed....apparently too many problems with them. We are exclusively Verizon here, so our options for business PDAs is really limited.

LG has the EN-V I think it's called, it opens up to expose a full keyboard.

Choices, choices.............they are endless.

They need like a free trial program or something............let you try the phone and return it if you don't like it.

That's why I'd like to find a used one, small investment if I don't like it.
