I've been thinking about getting a full face carbon fiber helmet and after seeing how yours saved your head and face I think I'm about ready to trade my 1/2 helmet in. I went down last April ('06) going 50 mph (a van made a left in front of me) and shattered my pelvis. I was lucky, I don't think my head struck the ground. I was wearing a 1/2 helmet at the time and it wasn't scratched. You would have thought I would have learned from that. Seeing your helmet has finally gotten through to me.
Hope you mend real soon.
Glad to see you are okay. Crashing sucks... Happenned to me about two weeks ago on black ice going over a bridge.Once you hit a situation like that there really is not much you can do. I probably used bad judgement in going out in such bad weather. Hopefully insurance will take care of all that chrome and plastic and you'll be ready to get back in the saddle soon.
Glad you're ok. We are fixing to be a DOT helmet state here in NC as of Janurary 1st. The wife and I were looking at helmets this week end and boy is it hard to convince me to go DOT 1/2 shell much less 3/4 or full. But stuff like this is making it hard not to. It really sucks that those people didn't stop. Get well.
Wow glad you are okay. Sit back and enjoy the Christmas season. For all of those people that just passed you by...will get the favor return in some shape, form or fashion. Happy healing
Thank Godyou're ok! The bike can be fixed. It's amazing just how much 'cosmetic' damage can cost....mine was over $5200...and all I did was hit the ditch. I had several upgrades done...most involved 'partially free' or 'free' labor because they were allready doing 'it'...even some of the upgrade parts were 'partial' cost to me due to insurance paying what they did....case in point a chrome engine kit for my EGS cost me about $25 out of pocket with free labor. LOL...if I'd only had that 'rainy day' money to play with. Ive been shopping for a full-face modular helmet...seeing yours kind of 'sealed the deal'. I had my half on the day of my accident...and although it was grass and mud....I do remember banging my head.
Main thing is you're ok...you walked away, and are able to talk about it. You'll be in the wind before ya know it!

Good Luck....

I remember when you crashed a short time ago, glad to see your okay back on it. The first estimate from the dealer is a big fat $9,513 and some change, $2,000 of that is just in labor. Very hard to believe that sliding the 30 feet or so did that much damage and it was over in just seconds.
