guys, I'm installing a new HD helmet lock on my 07' King's crash bar, seems tight, do I need to tap it on with a rubber mallet and tighten the screws as I go...?

Yeah, mine was tight too. I did exactly as you suggest: tapped it with a rubber mallet and then attached the back with the screws.

Mine was tight as well. I alsoplaced a piece of bicycle innertube around the bar to protect the finish. I wasn't sure if I was going to move the mount to a different place or not.

Yea.. they go on tight - mounted them on my Engine Guard facing in on the left side on both the RKC & RG - Locks up two helmets with no problem & not hitting anything...
