I own a 2007 Road Glide and I have been looking at seats by Danny Gray and like the look of them, but I don’t know of anyone that owns one. Can you guy’s help I don’t want to spend a bundle and then not like it. I ride about 10 to 15 thousands miles a year and want nice looking yet commutable, let me know looking forward to your input.
I have a 03 road glide. I purchased a Danny Greyit looks GREAT! I have had it for years.
I am a short guy 5'7" and I am able to be flat footed with the Danny Grey.
Not sure if the newer versions of the DG seat are any better...I get butt fatigue on the DG after about 45 minutes.
I find I need to stand on the floorboards while riding in order to get the blood circulating in my backside.
(not really safe)
For LONG rides I use my Mustang with the back rest. No butt fatigue. I can go tank-to-tank.
The Mustang doesn't look as slim (wider seat pan). The mustang is not leather (some special vinyl that kinda looks like leather). I just finished a 2500 mile ride on the Mustang and only got off when I needed gas.
comfort vs. looks???
Like I said earlier I'm not sure if the newer DG's have a more comfortable padding.
If you are interested in a Mustang (do the one with the backrest) give 'em a call.
I believe that you can try their seat for 10 days and if you don't like it you can send it back for a full refund.
I have the "short hop 2 - up XL" from danny grey on my roadglide. It is the best seat looks and comfort wise ive tried so far for my roadglide.Im 5'10 195 with a 30 inseam. This seat also helps me flatfoot better. The seat has lower back support which is a must for me. With this seat you sit in the "pocket". I ride aggressive and this seat locks you in. The only negative for this seat is I would'nt ride a passenger long distance due to the smaller back section but its plenty for around town. Quality wise its a 10 ! Price is 3 and change but I feel its worth every penny
p.s.- the seat is very firm, but i feel firmness equals less fatigue. soft seats are not for me. I compare it to a mattress. I like the support of a firm mattress, less back pain . therefore I carry that logic over to my seat.
