Default Will IDS work on 06 eg classic?
I replaced the belt with a chain. and just wanted to know ifIDS will work, if so would it be better,for theengine,or fora smoother ride?

REPLACING your belt already???? WOW... They normally last 50K or better if ya keep then adjusted...

you shouldn't need it on the '06... IDS is available to correct a noise that is related to the six-speed tranny that came out on the '07.

I also am interested in this post,from what I've learned the belt is wider on a 07-08 model which would mean that a front pulley would also have to changed.
As far as if the IDS would fit up to a chain I have know idea. I think if you could actually marry up the system it should smooth things out a tad which is the effect I would be looking for.
Come all you knowledgeable types give us some opinions.

IDS is there to help compensate for the "redesigned" compensator in the primary that really doesn't work that well. Your 06 doesn't need it.

Man I wish it would have lasted longer, butafteronly 20kI had a lot of stone damageto the belt and pully system. and never been off the pavement.
