Default Moisture inside gauges

I noticed a while back after washing my S/G the first time that the gauges had moisture on the insid eof the lens. Thinking of what happened to a few wrist watches from moisture I got worried and called the dealer. They said moisture inside the gauges is normal and not to worry about it. Since than I ignored it and every time I wash the bike it happens, than after a while it goes away. I was just wondering if this occurs on your bikes and if the dealer was snowing me or not to avoid warranty.

Speedometer on my 07 Ultra sometimes gets moisture in it. I have not worried about it since I have been told its a common problem.

Never had it happen on my 07 SG. I am also a little bit more careful around the fairing when I wash.

Yep it's done it one several of my bikes. The response you got is the official HD reply. I have not had a gage fail so other than a mild annoyance it doesn't cause much of a problem.

Not a touring, but any time it rains, gets really cold, or I wash the bike my speedo and fuel gage fog up and have droplets.

86,91,97, and 02 baggers. All had moisture in guages. No long term problems on any of them.

I have an 04 EG Std and the fuel gauge gets moisture all the time. I live in Puerto Rico in the tropics, its very humid so I guess it will always happen !! No problems so far. Thanks to the original poster for posting his message, I was getting worried and thought it was a problem with my bike specifically.

Had on 04 Ultra that had moisture in the fuel gauge when I would take it out of warm garage into cold. Dealer said it was made of plastic inside and would not rust or corrode...Bldr
