I put the V&H slash-cut slip-ons on my 08 Ultra, at the same time had the SE Intake added and the SERT. Topped it off with a good dyno tune. Love the sound and the overall effect on performance with the full stage-1 done.
I had VH Ovals on my True Duals prior to my Fatcat. I like the sound and peformance of them. On my new bike I just put VH Basic slash cut's slip on's the stock headers and love them. They sound great, (I think better than the Ovals), and perform great. I can't make any solid comparisons though due to 103" vs 95" builds, cams etc.
A buddy of mine had them on his FLHX and they sounded pretty good from my bike when we go riding ......
They can bark pretty well when you're on them , but the sound is quite nice.
My 16721 V&H mufflers ( classic straight cut slipons ) http://www.vanceandhines.com/a203_classic_drs.html
are a bit quieter and are easier to sneak through the nearby neighborhoods with.
The V&H products are very nice for sound , finish , and overall quality.

I have an 08 Elect Glide Classic. I am considering the V&H tapered slash-cut slip-on #16741. Does anyone have these?
I am looking to get a deep throaty sound. Not so loud that my neighbors hate me and the cops look at me. Am I looking at the right V&H model?
All feedback will be appeciated.
I've recently got these put on my Ultra. Great sound. Not too loud, but definately a bit more base. My twelve year old, upon hearing the difference, said it sounded like my bike had gone through puberty. Get 'em, I don't think you can go wrong.
I have used many types of pipes in the past. I have always liked the fit, finish, and sound of V&H products. I have never had any problems with any of their exhaust. I am sure if you keep something long enough it will wear and have some sort of problem. I have the basic slip on-see my sig.-it is basicly the same as the one you are refering to. As long as you take it easy it should not cause any problems with your neigbors. Show respect and you will be just fine. On the other hand twist the wick and you will have a deep sounding monster on your hands.
I have had many commits on how good they sound.
Your choice and decision

Have them on my 2007 EGC. Like the sound, not to loud and love the looks, fit & finish. 3rd set of V&H pipes I've had on different bikes and they have all been excellent. Try American Classic Motors for best price.
I replaced the baffle packing in my V&H basics after about 5ooo when I thought they were sounding a bit tinny. Another 10K and still luvin the sound.
