Had mine for about a year with no problems at all. I had to take them off due to adding lower fairings to my bike.

Mine are on a 96 Rk, and the rubber fuel hose got cut in half due to the hose bouncing up and down on it. That was loads of fun, nobody is near me and I smell gas, then stared to get wet from the gas. Got home and ordered the chrome fuel line and added some rubber bushings and so far so good. It's a bit big and looks like an albatross. Thinking of changing to the stebels.

Chrome has been fine.

well listen to this. im not getting the warm fuzzies after talking to Tony at HHH horns today. he started by telling me how important it was that they were mounted to the bracket properly. "what does that have to do with the finish pealing ??" i ask. nothing he says. then he wants to know who installed them?? then goes on to tell me that they are "going to take samples of the wax i used on the horns off the finish-"we can tell if you were using a quality wax or some of that cheap spray on stuff, you wouldnt mistreat your bike would you? why would you treat the horns to any less?" wanst me to ship the horns and the bracket "we can tell if you didnt have the rubber on the right side of the mounting bracket!!"

Now i started this process with a nice e mail stating that i bought the horns due to the good reviews from members of the HD Forum and nicely asked for thenm to warranty the horns. the above explanation is the response ive gotten so far. im in the customer satisfaction business. im a goodyear dealer. my response to a 170.00 6 month old purchase would have been a simple "we'll make it right for you" and sent out a new set of horns. now ivenot only got to send the horns in so CSI:HowardsHorns can have thier lab and scientists try to find a reason not to warranty them (at my expense) but i have to ride around withouta horn during this process.

are these people for real??? im going to post some pictures of these horns and the way the finish is falling off with in the next day or two BEFORE i send the horns in-in case they get "lost" in the lab. i mean the guy spent the whole conversation trying to dis credit my claim before he had even seen them. oh well.......this should be fun. has anyone else had a run in like this with these people???
Exactly the same treatment and story I got. By the way I sent the bracket in with a check for $35 and he called me to tell me he didn't take checks. I tried to give him a credit card number and he wouldn't take that even though he will take a credit card for the initial purchase. So I had to send him $35 cash. You think they would just give you a replacement bracket since there is a design flaw in the original setupand they have now redesigned the horns to alleviate it.

Yeah same here. couldn't understand why he wouldn't take a card again. I wonder why he didn't even try to cash the check since yo had already sent it?

You can see mine in the sig pic. Howards puts the compressor under the stock cowbell and bj's takes the cowbell off and the compressor under the seat.

I have bj's now

I like mine. Stops cagers in their tracks and has saved my a$$ more than once. Finish is ok so far. I made a better bracket when I installed mine on my Ultra. The dynamic Duo's had to be moved back from my lowers. Works great and seriously has never failed. Glad I have not had to deal with their customer service after reading this thread. Beats the crap out of the stock HD horn.

The main reason i read this forum is to see how some products work for others. I want to change my horns and i don't see Howard's on my list anymore after reading about their customer service response. Did send them an email to ask if i did purchase their product and the bracket broke or chrome peeled how would they deal with that. I am almost certain their response will be that this will not happen if installed correctly and i use only approved high quality wax (WHAT?) because we all know there is no such thing as manufacture defects.
