You can do it yourself in under 2.5 hrs.... It also depends on which FuelMgnt system your going to use... If you get the Package from Jamie @ Fuel Moto it will have the right map already to go and your back to doin it yourself in less then 2.5 hrs...

I had the same tough questions a while back. If you MUST have the dealer do some work, at least put the Rush slip-on's yourself, then ride the bike to the dealer. At this point, a K&N stage 1 air filter kit will cost roughly $129.95 +tx, only an ECM ajustment will cost about $145 + $60hr labor (1 hour), SE tuner from avaerage dealer cost somewhere around $280 + labor abd tx.

I suggest you take everybodies advise and go with Fuelmoto's rush setup (slipon's and tuner) and do the work yourself and save a wad of cash to buy chrome. The other route is to go the way I have untill I can afford a tuner, just put on the slip-on's.

Either way, good luck and happy holidays to all.

I watched Jamie do mine while we talked in about an hour. Dealer should be similar. If you're asking the question, have the dealer do it. It's not worth the hassle of messing with it for an hour or two of labor expense. Make sure your dealer is very familiar with the PCIII.

Do it yourself. Don't let some other knucklehead touch your bike. Part of the fun of owning a bike is doing it yourself or with a little help from your friends. Then you can buy lot's more goodies. What the hell if you screw it up it's nothing money can't fix. I just installed K&N, BUB 7's and a Tmax on my 07 Ultra. Haven't worked on a bike in 20 + years (since I got married) and belive me I'm not mech inclined at all.Followed all the instructions, cross checked with the service manual and it was a piece of cake. However there wasthis small little moment.Feeling pretty cocky and proud, Ifire it up with the old lady watching. Smoke starts billowing off the motor (read lot's and lot's of smoke), the pipes start turning blue and I going ah F**king Sh*t, there goes 25K. Well after the preservative and polish burnt off the pipes, I readjusted the heat shields to cover the blue and all is well. Damm the bike runs good, now all I need is the IDS. Well maybe a few more goodies.

Check on the "Elbow Grease" program, it may have some free labor for certain add-on/upgrades

I know my buddy just got screwed compared to doing it himself..on his 08 Ultra

VH ovals, Stage 1 download and or PCIII, SE A/C installed for $1500 at the Garland, Tx store. I told him many times to do it himself but you can beat it into him. He was happy, so that is all that matters.

Myself, I was just shocked at this charge [:-]
