my 42 mikuni carburetted 06 flhx will kill my 07 ultra....really man...my ultra has SERT, Rinehart TD, still no compare to my 06 flhx...
my flhx easily reach 190km/h....run very fast...my 07 ultra start going slow at 150km/h....i miss my flhx pull....
my complaint about carburetor is warming up process....
My fat boy was fuel injected and yes it was extremely reliable, however my 06 SG is carburated it idles so different than the fatboy. Being in south florida warming up is not an issue. As far as performance look at all the big twin motorsSS124, Tp120 etc they are all carburated (HINT HINT) My 06 SG carburatedkills myfriends 07 SG efi comparing apples to apples we both have rineharts true duals, air intakes mine is jetted and his has the power commander tuned in a dyno. We both can ride really good being that we both had hayabusas before which we raced 1/4 mile all the time..
FI any day, easier to tune, adjusts itself when going through the mountains, better MPG. Yep, it costs more up front, but in the long run, it makes money by not wasting fuel.

just sold my 2000 RK with the Mikuni...it was great performance and gave the bike the Harley sound we all love...but gotta tell ya I do like the benefits of the fuel injection system.
