but had bike facing into wind and tried to start it. Starter didn't even turn over.
Turned it around so facing with the wind.
Now it cranked normally, even a little better than normal.
After doing some research on this strange event, came to the conclusion that the wind was blowing so hard, the electrons couldn't travel down the wire against the head wind to get to the starter to crank the engine over. also now the wind was blowing up the tail pipe, maybe this contributed to the faster turn over.
so much for the suck start a harley rumorI've heardof!!!
That's typical of life on the prairie. Over at Rapid City we had to turn the B52s into the wind or they wouldn't spin the right way to start. That had nothing to do with electrons, just air molecules.
Gotta be careful of strong side winds. IF the wind speed is high enuff, it can actually cause the electrons that are supposed to be going to your Left blinker, to actually go to the Right blinker.
I don't know how hard it was blowing yesterday, I think 40 mph and gusts to 50.
But that is common here in wyoming.
No new snow. didn't catch what the windchill was.
My furnace ran all day and the wood burning stove to and couldn't keep up with the cold.
wind died down today now house is warming up again.
went outside and my rear blinker was over full on fluid, so turned bike around again.
Hopefully it will level out by morning so I can ride. Maybe, still snow on the gravel road, but highway is dry and clear.
