The install of the unit is 20-30 minutes max. And the upgrade of the firmware is done automatically through updates on the web. You just connect the unit with the supplied ubs cable to your computer and click update. It is a very simple unit to keep current.

Save yourself some time and go look at the Zumo 550. By reading your post it's the one your going to end up with.

Another vote for Zumo 550, especially, if you plan to add XM radio.

I'm looking at the Zumo 550 ... and am a newbie with GPS ....

About bluetooth ... so .... ifI have a bluetooth phone, I can sych this up to the 550 and if I plug the 550 into the aux (08 Ultra Classic), I can hear via my existing headset?

About XM, same thing? If I buy the XM service it will connect to the 550 and when plugged into the aux, I can hear via my existing headset?

Thanks for any info!

i have a 06 ultraclassic
I have one you can connect it to the aux port and hear the turn by turn instructions through the radi o so im sure that will work with your headset. As far as the phone when the 550 is in the mounting bracket for your car you can make and recieve phone calls through the zumo when it is blue tooth connected to your phone. On the bike i think you can hear the phone ring through your headset but cant talk. That part is blue tooth. Sometimes i wear a bluetooth earpiece under my helment you can hear turn by turn instructions and phone.
As far as XM the only way to hear it is to connect it to the aux . So im sure that will work with your head set. Hope this helped..
ps. its a great unit. and yes its not perfect but looks good on the ultra..

Another vote for the Zumo 550! I have had the Garmin 2610 and now the Zumo, and Garmin has hit another home run! A great company with great products!

The quality, packaging, and install of the Zumo is first rate! I just couldn't be happier. I bought mine from BuyDig for $699 earlier this week. They had the unit in stock and shipped the next day after my order.
