It is the thought that matters. I would be happy with a card that just says your the best dad I love you. I told our kids not to spend much all we wanted was them over for christmas.

$100 card from my parents. Before buying it, they called the dealer manager to make sure I could apply the gift card to my outstanding winter balance. ($3600 so far and climbing) Does anyone else who got a gift card for $100 suddenly consider getting something for, oh say, $800? Like Wild Ones bars plus labor for install w/internal wiring and braided lines? That $100 could go a long way toward something like that?

My daughter gave me a gift card for Christmas. She struggles to make ends meet and was only able to afford one for $30. When I jokingly told her what HD stood for she was upset and said they shouldn't sell any gift cards less than $100 if that is the case. But it's all good. I can put it together with the ones I got from others and I will be fine. T.

Its the thought she gave you something towards you really like.
She could have gotten you a new tie or socks, not saying that would be a bad gift.
Its not the value of the gift but the thought that goes into one. You have a great daughter.
