I have the same problem, saying something in humor or light hearted, and end up hurting feelings.
Maybe why my 17 yr old daughterleft home Dec.15th, returned homeDec 23rd, demanded any and all gifts that we had for her, then left. (we told her she can have them when shes home to stay)
We've heard she was fired from her job. We're not sure where she is staying, We know she didn't go to school 17th -21st. She plans on quiting in Jan when she turns 18
I'd give anything to fix things and just have her home, not really sure what to fix, she says she just can't live in our house, to many rules...

Just give her a huge hug and make sure she knows how sorry you are, asure her you would never try to hurt her feelings.....

any gift that was thought out like a $30 gift card is worth more then a tie or a pair of socks.. As far as the Raindeer bag?? that was truely from the heart. Give your daughter a big hug and be proud. Some Dads get phone calls and have to bail out their daughters. A $30 gift card is worth more then a $3000 on because it came from the heart. Thank her from all the other DADS here and Have a happy New Year!!!

what we know is an immature attitude. Sounds to me like she has loving parents ....... others could be so lucky!
