Took a two hour ride today here in SW Ohio and it was great! It was a little over 40 degrees here and my FXRG® Gauntlet Glovesreally worked well but the soft lowers I bought for around $60 were fantastic. There was virtually no air or chill on my feet or legs and all I wore were jeans no long Johns. I highly recommend them for winter riding and a lot cheaper than the hard lowers ataround $600.
Nope, that's a great question and you're dead on. You don't want use these when the outside temperature is 50 degrees or above. of course youwouldn't need them then.
I have been planning on getting them. Thanks for the pictures of the backside. I got a gift card from some friends and I am heading down to the dealer tomorrow moring and get a set. Want to bet that they are sold out...just my feeling as tht usualy what happens when i want something. The wife and I went out today and we had chaps and flanal lined jeans and long johns and this would help too.
When you go to put them on the Velcro straps are adjustable. Mine were stuck down flat and didn't look like you could adjust them because they have the Velcro over their entire length.I hope that makes sense....
I rode with a buddy yesterday who had a similar set of gauntlets, but his were leather from the frame outwards on each side, but had a mesh material in the center section to allow air to flow through and hit the engine. Heputs them on at night, and when it's cool outside, and they take up virtually no room in the bags at all.
At 10% the cost of hard lowers, how can you go wrong?Plus, they are easy on, easy off....like 2 min. vs. how long on removing/replacing the hard lowers? And,you can pack them in your bags for those trips that turn ugly. Got 'em, love 'em.
i have a similar pair on my RKC. excellent for the money. no wind on your feet/lower legs and easy on/off.... stashed in the bags and really dont take up any room.
I thought about getting these. For the price, I am sure it would be worth it, but I have been thinking of www.hoggchopps.com lowers. Less than HD ones, and colormatched.
BTW, I have gauntlet gloves, and my fingers still got cold. I saw the other day a pair of glove liners at HD. They were like $15, and very thin. I tried them on, and I bet they would help. I didn't buy them, as all they had were small and med, and I need xl or xxl. For now I use a pair of latex gloves under the gauntlets. Cuts the wind completely, and cost me nothing.
