Thank you 379 Glide. That was exactly what I was asking.

think everyone missed the question, or maybe i'm wrong but i think what he was asking is .... is there a difference in which true dual header pipes you use or are all true dual header pipes created equal

I have the factory front header. I removed the Y pipe and used thefull sac conversion. I am happy with the results and I saved big money.

I know there are many different mufflers and different performance levels that come with them. My question is, do the different headers matter as far as performance goes. I'm speaking of the "True dual" headers. I have SuperTrapp mufflers on my 08 SG and the bike is having a BB kit installed. I like the open look of the true dual setup and was thinking of having it done. V&H, Rinehart, which one or does it matter. No need to comment on my mufflers as I like them and won't change them.

I see all the postssaying that the stock header pipes are too restrictive, but I have to tell ya, Ileft them on and just putthe Rinehart slip on mufflers on my103" Stage ii to save the money for something else,I posted the picture of the dyno sheet in another thread as well, and I have 85HP to the ground and over 103 lb/ft of torque over a wide RPM range to the ground. Those numbers seem to be above average compared to what others have posted that have similar mods. I wouldcontend that the stock header pipes are just fine and produce quite a bit of torque... andthe right side pant legdoes get warm, but I have not had HOT by any means on the right hand side.Last comment for now, putting my hand behind the pipes, itfeels like there is as much air movement behind the left as the right,so I can't say concerning the 80% 20% comment.

You will have to be the judge. Even if the stock header is 90% of someone else's crossovered header, the $300 or so plus install of that part will get you some other parts that you may prefer even more... aaaahhhh the choices we get to make...

Just pick one of the kits. If one of the conversion kits was bad, we would all know about on here as everyone posts opinions and dyno results.

I just had the V&H headers put on and I love them. I have Rhinehart Eaglebeak slip-ons as the muffler. My '06 RG also has the HD 95" stage II kit. My RG runs way better now after the addition of the headers and PCIII. Before I just had stock head pipes with the Eaglebeaks and the basic HD stage II download.

Get what you like and get the bike tuned by a good tuner using a PCIII USBor SERT. Your SG will run great.
