I have ordered this for my FLHX, and have seen it in the dealership on a bike. Seems like it will sit really low, which I like, but no sure how it would work for actual use.
I have a nylon tour bag with a semi-rigid bottom on it and don't want it rubbing on the fender / bags etc.
Just put one on my 07 Street Glide. It's gonna work fine. A bi of a struggle installing the piece during re-assembly and lining up rear fender holes and bolts. If you installed the detachable backrest hardware this is a snap.
They work great and look better. I have one on my '08 SG. I use a rally pack, cheeper version of the T-Bags, with it and the only thing that is weird is, it pushes the antenna out a little. I don't worry about it though because the antenna has a spring base to it and it flexes right back when I take the bag off. I only used it once so far though, so I can't tell you if there are long term problems. I like the look of the stealth rack better than the plain bar, even if it was not functional.
I've seen this on a bike (SG), and I really thought it looked great! Seamed to really add the finishing touch to the rear end where the paint was exposed, plus added functionality!
Won't put it on my bike though, because I don't want to shell out the bones to relocate my TS and plate. You won't need to do that for your SG.
I had this one on my 06 and have added it to my 08. It finishes the rear end ofthe bike off IMO and also in very sturdy. Easily holds my Kuryakin Gran Tour pack.
I've got it on mine and it works great. YOur tour pack could still rub the fender in front of the rack depending on how it fits. I used a piece of static cling film to protect the paint between the front of the rack and the passenger backrest. I have since relocated the back holes in the quick detach setup which tilted the backrest back a little. This gave my wife a little more room and moved the tour pack back a little. I don't need the cling film any more.
The rack is kinda pricey, but the best looking for the Streetglide.
