I know i will get slammed for this post, but i just came search and really did not find out what i was looking for. have 06 SG and want to put sirius radio on it. Went to best buy still confused{i'm old}. Looking for a radio that has the male adapter for the HK radio, the antennae, and power plug. Someone was telling me to get a wireless FM transmitter and i got lost. I can hardwire it or use a cig lighter plug i guess. Do alot of long distance riding, just want to listen to rock and roll nothing fancy, but trouble free. Today i looked at the inv2 and the starman and then someone said the stratus was better than the starman. I can get the inv2 for 19 bucks but dont know if it will hook up or is lacking something i need. Thanks guys
I had the Sirius "starmate 4" on my bike. I ended up burning out two docking stations due to vibrations. I think my next move will be to install the "INV II" model, it is a direct mount system, so it shouldn't burn out. It's not much to look at but as long as it works thats fine by me. I used one of these to connct my Sirius set to my radio (http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/SIRIU...oductDetail.do). Very easy to install.I hardwired the sat radio to thecig lighter.

I can't help you with Sirius radios because I have xm but I can help with the hookup. After you get the radio you want just go to radio shack and buy a 1/8 by 1/8 headphone jack cable. One end goes into the headphone jack on the radio one goes in the HK Aux. port. Then you will need a Antenna. You can buy one with a short wire so you don't have to bundle it up. There are several places that carry them. I have mine mounted on the fender by the seat. Others have there's on the fairing then either run it off the radio battery or wire to a hot wire for power.
I'm old also.... And Cheap.... I went with XM and put a Sportscaster XM ($19.00 after rebate) on my putt and it (ths Sportscaster) has a built-in FM Mod... Ran the power to the back side of the fairing mounted lighter and ran the antenna to the top of the radio housing (others have put the XM antenna under the fairing... Well I spend about 90% of my time rockin to the sat radio...
I just got the Inv2 for christmas and for now I use it with the cigarete adapter for power and then plug it into my rumble road self powered speakers plug in the antenna which is doublesided taped to the top of my t-bag, and for now have set the channel I want and throw it in the saddle bag- works great- switch on the nacell turns off the power.
I need a better way to mount the antenna though - I'm worried it will come off.....
This is scary. I just bought a Starmate 4 for the scoot.
Were they replaced underwarranty?

I had the same issue, even using the lock function on the back of the docking station. Sirius replaced the first docking station. the second one started doing the same thing, losing contact between the receiver and the docking station due to vibration. I finally used some small black wire ties around the docking station and the receiver, since i leave the receiver on the bike. Seems to have fixed the problem. over 6k miles without a problem now.
I use the Sportster 4 with the motorcycle mounting kit nedster links to. I've never had a problem with vibration causing problems. Keep the lock on the back locked while riding and remove radio when stopped. The kit comes with the power supply so you don't tie up the cig lighter. I also used the FM adapter that plugs to the radio to eliminate the plug into the aux port. I can still plug my mp3 player in without having to unplug the radio.
I tried using the Sportster 4 in my truck with just the FM modulator and had problems because of the crowded air waves in Houston. Even with the FM adapter, I had to find a compatible frequency. Recommendations for these are available at the Sirius site.
