Time to put the bike up for a couple of days, the weather is starting to turn.I seem to draw the line at about 45 degrees.I guess if I was going to continue to ride in the cold I would drop the oil weight down as well.Riding at say 50 degrees the oil temp cant be getting very warm at all any input on this operating temp?
Not bad.
When we got up this morning it was 33 degrees. We rode to Arlington Texas convention center for the DFW Bike show and swap meet. Alot of riders this morning were there.
It finally reached 45 when we rode home. Nice sunny and crisp.
CoOling off? I use to draw the line at 40 degrees but have found this year I am riding when its down in the 30's. On New Years day going for a ride its supposed to warm up to 45 degrees. Here in Washington state you can't always wait for good weather to do anything, or you will wait your life away. Ride whenever you can and enjoy it, some can't ride asoften as you can.
It's tough living just above the snow line too. It just snowed about 4 inchs. A short drive down the mountain about 20 minutes and no snow on the ground and its perfect for riding, a little cool but realy nice. Maybe I should keep my bike in a storage unit down in town somewhere so I can ride once in while during the winter.
I draw the line at when they first salt the roads here....and that is usually late October to early Nov. although we have been warmer than usual, and it has rained for a week washing the salt off the roads.
Hell, I would love temps in the 40's. High today of 39 (the nicest day in a week). Low of 14. Yes, 14 here in the freakin' desert. I drove the truck to work last week, and it was in the mid teens all week. Way to cold for me. I guess living here for so many years has made me soft... But, I am cold all the freakin' time now.
I agree, I hope its gets into the high 30's for our annual New Year's day ride. I hate the cold weather, sure looking forward to Springtime in the Rockies.
