I'd bet money Zanotti's doesn't get 08 service manuals next week.
All the dealersI have talked to have told me the same thing... theyhaven't been given a newprojected release date yet. That is why they no longer have a back order list. They are hoping soon. They say they will be notified about a week before the actual ship date.
Pomona Valley HD, Skip Fordyce HD, Quaid HD (Loma Linda & Temecula) are all dealershipsI have talked to. I even called Destination HD in Tacoma, WA because I will be up there next week. All the same story, "We don't know. We are waiting too."
As of Saturday (12/29) the best they could do is promise to check for a status update on Wednesday (1/2) when HD HQ opens back up.
The dealers have been issued a "make shift" copy in order to perform service.... but the public copies may still be a ways out.
But all above are correct. There is no substitute.
Well, maybe I'm being naive. Up to now, they said release dates were 11/30, 12/15, then 12/30. This time they're saying that the back-order flag has been removed from the system. This tells me that the only delay at this point, should only be transit time to Zannotti's and then shipping them from there.
Since the '08 manual isn't out yet. If you can't wait the '07 touring manual would be the closest thing to it. Granted there will belots ofgaps in the info such as ABS, IDS, Throttle by wire, the tank and seat. But it should be better than nothing. The '08 parts manual is out and could help withparts break downs and such. Hopefully the '08 manual will be out by spring.
I guess im confused now, I have the owners 2008 manual, the electrical manual and on order the service manual,
Parts Manual has diagram breakdowns with part numbers.
Is this a manual that is on the shelf at the dealers?? I guess I have never seen it before and I thought I had seen all of them. It sounds like a good one to have.
Are those in stock now or back order like the service manual?

The dealer I work at keeps two service manuals and one parts manual in stock for each year and model scoot from 2000 and up. We don't have them on a shelf out on display, but we have them out in the stock room. IMO, it is most imperative to have a service manual and a parts manual. I never used the EDM for my 04 when I had it, but it isn't bad to have on hand either. The parts manuals for the 08 are available now. The service manual was released 12-27 and should be at the dealers this week or next the latest.
