I would like feedbackfrom Supertrapp SE muffler owners. These are the ones that are 3db louder stock not the regular mufflers. Hows the sound quality? Deep tone? Tinney sounding? Do they discolor? Thanks in advance.
Mine are a little louder than stock but have a nice deep bark when you give her some gas. Crusing at 80mph, I can hear the tunes just fine. No discoloration at all on mine.
'Bout the same experience here. A little more volume than stock, but a whole lot deeper tone. After a couple hundred miles, you'll start to notice a little more of that "bark" when you hit the throttle. I've got about 6500 miles on mine, no discoloration. I'm real happy with 'em.
I would say that mine might be only 3db over stock at idle but are louder when you get on it a bit. They have a nice deep mellow tone, especially at cruising speeds. No discoloration here either. Deeper sound and not as loud as the V&H Ovals i had before them.

That "3db louder than stock" is ONLY at idle. I agree w/ DB10881 ! deep mellow tone when on the throttle & cruising @ 2200 RPM. Can hear the tunes just fine & the wife talking sometimes
I think the are the perfect compromise; sound is real nice but not too loud.
The Supertrapp Company offers great customer service.
Recently I had a problem with my right slipon that is 2 yrs old. It developed an internal rattle. I called Supertrapp, they said mail it to them and they will correct the problem (for free). Not only did theyinstall a new baffle but I had the muffler back within 3 days!
I bought mine with the Billet Fluted end caps. Due to the reverse megaphone design of the cap's outlet I had the strangest puffing sound. You let off for a shift and the bike sounded like it was goung to suck it's self back into it's self.Rediculous enough I took them right back off.Not sure why I didn't just get the Billet Taper/Slash end caps they show in the advertisement but ordereda set ofsteel Java Jugs. Damn it! The rolled in design of the exit provided a very similarweirdness but with a different tone. After reading so many posts on how great the Kerker 65115 core is I couldn't give up. Got some washers to fill the gap between the core and body and put the bolts in with out end caps. Oh hell yes, now I see what all the hubub is about. After twisting my brain around it for a while (a six of Sammy's might have helped) I got two pieces of 2-1/4 inch standard exhaust pipe about 1-3/4 inches long. They slipped rightover the exit of the core. Then I drilled two holes, one on each side, through the exhaust pipe and core and used #4 stainless sheet metal screws to hold them on. Put the Billet Fluted caps back on hiding my handy work and walla! There not quite as deep due to the exhaust only allowed to expand a bit on exit from the core but the wacko sound is gone.
I Like them,,,, look like stock,, (maybe fool cops)
very light on the throttle,,, they can whisper through towns,,
roll it on,,, ITS HARLEY,,, what we look for!
Not tinny,, more like farrrt,farrrt
not obnoxious when crusi'n
mama don't complain.
excellent quality
