Rest In Peace My ***, I got s**t to do [/align]

Motorcycles that is ? I find myself Consumed by them, everything I do or want to do is mostly centered around Motorcycles. In my youth it was like this, everything I did was all about Motorcycles.. now in my "Slightly Advanced Age" it's even worse. I find even the most Mundane topics regarding motorcycles peaks my interest.
I spent 10 hours yesterday looking at bikes and Parts and pieces related to them and I can't help myself, I tried believe me.

So my question is, how many of you have this inflection ? I want to know your story, who did this to you, how did you get started on this road to motorcycle addiction ? My Father gave me a ride on a 65 Triumph Bonnie when I was 3 years old and I still have memories of that first ride (I can't remember what time it is right now, but I can remember that) we had a hydrolic Motorcycle lift in our Garage and a wall full of tools to work on them.
All my friends came to my home to fix anything that needed fixing, and I don't think I had a shirt that was not M/C related, even my Bicycle was a Suzuki or a Yamaha.

Please tell me how this Wonderful way of life was introduced to you, who started you down this road and what has kept you going in this direction.

For me, it's all about peace and Freedom from the doldrums of everyday life, and the thought of the next adventurous ride to Nowhere, you know what the the very best part is, I can not wait to get there.

Enjoy your life and what you have in it, Tomorrow is another day and soon it will be gone....

Cheaper to ride to work than driving my truck.

It's all my Uncle's fault. I grew up living about 2 miles from my Aunt, Uncle and Cousin. It helped that I hated my brother (4 yrs older and constantly pestering me) so my cousin was my best friend. I literally spent all my time over there.

My Uncle has been riding since well before I was born. He's always had some type of cruiser motorcycle or other. When I was a little tyke it was Suzuki because of the price. I remember the first trike he built. He used to take me and my cousin everywhere on that trike. He actually built it with two seats side by sideon the back instead of two seats in tandem so that we could ride with him and see the world.

He bought his first brand new Harley in '84 (last of the Shovel, not an EVO) and he still has it. That bike has been rebuilt 3 times and has over 400k total miles on it and he still rides almost daily and goes to as many rallys as he can.

Thanks to him I've been on two motorized wheels since I was as young as 5 as a passenger, 8 as a rider. My first legal street vehicle was a 400cc Yamaha at 16 that I bought myself. I didn't even get a car until I was 18 but by then I was on my second motorcycle, a Honda CB 400. I didn't get my first Harley until after a 6 year break from motorcycling thanks to Uncle Sam's Misguided Children. But I bought a used'88 FXRS with my re-enlistment bonus as a down payment. Now I've got my '06 Street Glide and my wife has a '98 Softail Custom.

My two-wheeled life is still going and I'll never stop so long as I can throw a leg over. Once I can't, we'll talk about trikes...

When I was younger, I spent a lot of the summer at my Mothers parents house. The summer I was 12, I was out in Grandpa's garage and found what I thought was a dirt bike. Turns out it was what they called an Enduro. Basically a street legal dirt bike. Asked Grandpa who's was it and did it work. "It's your uncles, and he hasn't been on that thing in years." Asked Uncle Ron if I could ride it, he told me if I could get it running, I could have it. Well, I had been racing BMX for a while and I could strip my bike down to the frame and have it up again in an hour, so I started on the bike. A few trips down to the local bike shop later, I had it running. It was an early 70's Honda 125cc. I ran that thing through my Grandparents 6 acre wooded lot for the rest of that summer. Bounced off a few tree's, busted my pinky after clipping a tree, but I had the greatest time. So, since 1979 I have been on and off motorcycles of all kinds, Thanks Uncle Ron

A schoolmate and I talked about getting motorcycles and riding from the east coast to the west coast. Well, we bought small motorcycles but never made the trip...too many young honeys in our life at the time. Sold the bike when I went to be G.I. after getting married and raising a family, one day told the wife, it's time to ride again. Now here I am.

Grew up in the boonies, bumming rides from other kids who had mini-bikes. My best friend, whom I met in college, got me into streetbikes. Bought my first ride, a 500 Shadow, when I was 19. From there on, off and on my own bikes, and at the time of my separation/divorce, the same best friend lent me a VFR700. Once I sold my house, I bought the HD, and then the garage multiplied. Been a legal rider for 22 years now.

I am at my best when I get to ride. Makes me happy, gives me a great place to think, escape, and smile. Luckily, my girlfriend is a very fun pillion rider, and working towards her M Class as well.

I live a hectic worklife... to the point where I almost feel ADD. There is always something to be concerned about and most certainly several things going on in parallel. Something is always broke and noone is taking the lead to get it working correctly without my involvement.

I like scoots and diving in warm tropical places for the simple reason that you have to pay attention to what is going in right in front of you. You can relax into the moment. Nothing else concerns you. You get to pay full attention to your surroundings. The sights, the smells, the life that is happening only right around you. It's a wonderful relaxer.

May sound dumb, but that's why like motorcycling.

I got a new bicycle when I was eight years old. After the new wore off, I started trying to figure out how to put a lawnmower engine on it.Tryed for years, never did "get-ur-done"![:@] Rode 80cc Yamahas and 90cc Hondas all through my "Hells Angles" and "Easy Rider"period, of13 to 16 years old. Gave up on motorcyclestill 1985. Then one year on a 1000cc Yahama Virago. After thata86 Classic, 91 Ultra, 97Utra, and now 02 Ultra.Who knows what`s next? Probably a 201x Ultra, at least I hope so!
