RBJones -
You should send this as a letters to the editor and get it properly addressed.
We do want all comments, good and bad - it's how you get better, but I bring up the following points. You seem more than qualified to give your opinion on it, as you read multple magazines.
The mirror trick isn't that different, many magazines have done it and we think it works the best. Next time we'll put a caption up for everybody. While the bike features themselves are a lot of custom - isn't that were a lot of ideas for stock bikes come about? They are pretty and it sells soap but it is hardley our main focus. Almost all of the tech focuses on stock bikes. We talk to many readers who got ideas and some knowledge from a wide array of tech from seats to motor work.
That being said - we are at one with the industry - it is our job to bring ideas, inovation, and knowledge to you in an entertaining fashion. Our first goal is to entertain and we also want to be part of the force that makes this industry as a whole stronger. And not very many people would read and/or subscribe to a magazine that focused on what didn't work.
That being said - I wanted to reply to this not to call you wrong or argue, but to give my side as I see it being a part of this magazine. It has been a fun year for all of us working with this industry which is awesome and meeting a lot of you out there is always very cool.

We always want to hear what people don't like and like about the book - so as always keep the comments coming. I will always try to answer to the best of my ability and get back to you.

After reading my second issue... I would say this...

Good Tech sections with pictures. Some of the DIY posts onHDF are much better.
Good vendor exposure.I see some really interesting part designs.
A little to much focus on "custom bikes" rather than stock mods.

I am a little pedjudice.... everything that calls itself a bagger isn't a bagger.... to me.

RBjones is correct - They don't do critical analysis well. Everything they print they love. I'm glad he brought that up. I was thinking something similar. My first thought wasthey only review parts they like... then I realized there wasn't anything about those parts that they didn't like. I have rarely come across the perfect part or flawless mod. It is nice to be made aware of the "little" issues that come with almost everything.

With a limitedselection of bagger mags to choose from, there isn't anything better out there at the moment. It isnt the "be all, end all" of bagger magazines... but it is worth having.
