** What is the Best Seat for Tail Bone Pain Relief??

My problem was "up front" so I can't speak about issues concerning the tail bone . The Air Hawk-R is advertised as helping people with sacrum , coccyx , prostate and ******* pain . It has relieved my issue completely , as advertised . Good luck .

Too much like asking whose better looking Jessica Beal or Jessica Alba it's very subjective. It took completely reworking a Mustang Seat putting me close to $1k to get close to it working on my gimpy back....but bad backs are all diff also. Just be prepared to have it completely reworked whomever the manufacturer is.....and dont send it out of town to SC to have it reworked, find someone local because the chances its going to need taken apart a couple times is pretty high.

I realize seats are differnt for different people, but I am hoping there are some 6 foot \295lb boys out there that can give some suggestions. I get close to unbearable pain after about 100miles on a stock Electra Glide Seat. Has anyone with a similar problem found any relief? [:@] Thanks for the help!!
Had the problem for years and had many seats trying to fix the problem. I finally added a drivers backrest and set it so it forced me to sit straight. Prevents me from slouching and rolling back putting pressure on the bottom of my tailbone. Maybe this would work for you?
I am not your size or weight but it might be worth a try.

My and G/f sore tailbones were caused more by those sharp, sudden impacts from pot holes or Rail Road crossings than from just sitting and riding long distances on smooth roads.
We ended up with a Hammock seat, and that has made all the difference. We ride much more relaxed now, and can pile on the miles.
For really long rides we also throw a sheep skin over. It is held on by my riders back rest, and avoids sweaty butt.

I had a tail bone problem but no longer. I'm 6' and 265 lbs. I too would get almost unbearable pain after about 100 miles using the stock seat. i even went to a pain clinic and got shots for the problem. I bought an Ultimate and it helped make it better but I still had pain so I bought a mustang seat. out of the three (stock, ultimate or mustang) the mustang performed better but I still had a problem although not as bad. I finally decided to get a daylong by Russell http://www.day-long.com/ and I have not had a pain since. its expensive but if you can't ride, what's the use. also, you have to provide your seat pan as they don't supply one. its not the prettiest seat there is out there but its the best (imo). check it out. good luck.

All seats are differant and fit everybody differant. I can fix your seat to fit you and when I reshape the seat I change the angles of the seat to give better tail bone relief, add memory foam to it and you will have a all day seat. www.meancitycycles.com and yes I am a forum sponsor also

This is the best type of suggestion for the OP. Any reputable seat specialist can custom fit a seat for you for a lot less than many you can sink a lot of bucks into. I was lucky enough to find a local guy who did a seat for me for almost half of what Harley charges, and it was far better. I know, because I tried several demo seats before making this decision.

i tried a # of seats & aircushions, finally got lucky. hd police air ride seat with a utopia backrest. i am 6 foot & 290 lbs. i ride a 09 cvo rg. good luck.

Going to add my 2 cents here because this is a pain in the *** issue. Bought an Airhawk last year to help with numb butt. Airhawk didn't last long as it actually created tailbone pain. Bought Sundowner and this year have developed constant tailbone pain. I do find relief sitting on hard surfaces which initially made no sense to me however the more reading I do on the topic I'm starting to understand. Thinking about upcoming trip to Sturgis I was getting desperate so I shipped my seat to mean city cycles. Got double decker memory foam and the tailbone relief channel cut into it. Just got the seat back so cannot report on it yet but I am starting to worry that since hard surfaces give relief that double decker memory foam will not help. Leaving for Sturgis a week for today. I will report when I return. Keeping my fingers crossed that the mcc mods will be the ticket and I will not be returning on a Corbin seat which I think would be my next move for their firm seat.

After year of buying seats and sending seats away to be modified, I finally sent seats for 2 bikes to Russell Saddles. Both seats arrived within the last 2 weeks. The Harley Russell seat seems to have solved all my problems although the longest ride is 4 hours. The BMW seat has about 1100 miles on it now and it may need a minor adjustment but is already better than anything I have tried.
