Just got off phone with Kathy at HD, who by the way has been there 7 years, and in all of her time there she has never had anyone call with problems on fairing brackets, go figure. I asked to speak to her boss or a tech, and she said she was not allowed to pass calls. I asked if i needed to contact the atty general, and she said she was not allowed to go any further, if i was going to talk with legal. I have an 06 SG that has had 10 broken horizontal brackets and 2 vertical. This just aggravates the s#%t out of me. Sorry guys thanks for the vent.
what kind of roads do you ride on, there have been guys that have had one break but to continue to break them one after another you have to wonder what they are being subjected too.
I've had all 4 broken just one time. The verticals won't break again...not the way I modified them. Too bad some aftermarket company doesn't make replacements.
It does seem odd that so many broke. This wasn't common for so many years. Calling HQ usually gets a good recourse if you're trying to solve a problem but venting gets you nowhere.
I called the HD headquarters a few months ago, they said the same thing. Lying no good....[:@][:@][:@][:@]!!!
I broke about 10 brackets as well on my '06 SG...I finally fixed it myself.
I kept after 'em for a while before I quit, then the service manager at my dealer asked me one day if I had done any mods to my bike like slip-ons? I said yes...he then told me that HD engineering had called and askedhim that question about my bike; he said it was a cheesy way for the MOCO to get out of the repairsince I had mod'ed the exhaust and the vibration from my SEII slip-ons was causing the problem...he agreed it was bullsh_t!
BTW I'm still working the bugs out of the repalcement fairing bracket thatI'm trying to have mass produced.
all hwy driving, bike has never been off pavement. i am old and bike is not ran hard at all. we loosened all of the bolts to see if it would settle, but another broke in two weeks.

And he was right about the BS.
