Ok guys, in November Iput money down on a 2008 RK Classic. Bike was to come in sometime in Feb. This weekend, I discovered a screaming eagle road king sittin in a dealer and put money on it. Now, I cancelled my first bike (classic) and dealer kept $1000 as store credit. No biggie, figured I'd use that for parts etc. Now, I'm just scared for the SERK due to all of the issues on 110 motors and even found several complaints on NHTSA about 110 Harleys. Do the RK Classics 96" motors have all of these issues? I'm now debaiting cancelling my SE losing that $1000 to store credit and getting the classic back. Recommendations? I want to enjoy my bike and not have it sit in a shop all the time
Don't believe all the doom and gloom. All kind of tales about 08 problems. Been riding HD for 30 years, was out today on my 08 Ultra (68 degrees in Atlanta) still smiling. Best damn bike I ever owned. The people who **itch about them are the people who don't own them. These machines are awsome.
I can use that $1000 for parts, I've looked at the SERK site and just about everyone has had some type of issue from multiple gaskets, motor replacement, jugs replaced, some bikes fixed 1-5x's and still issues. For $30,000 the thing should be like a lexus
what you are also reading is negative feedback. i bet there are more positive than negative.
in general people will complain more than compliment. for example before i got my phone last week i checked out this website. in this forum people complain and ask questions about the phone thye dont like. you really dont read good that often
in my opinion GO FOR IT
if you're really worried about it, get the extended warranty also. but remember, you are going to hear a lot more negative than you are positive. hell, if you just looked at this site, you would think that all 07s suck beans, they rattle and are too hot, don't track straight, the suspension sucks, cranks scissor, etc....
tell you what, you get the se, and i'll trade you even up for my road king. i'll even let you keep your 1000 in store credit.... now aint i just such a nice guy? lol.
