I am choosing between these JL's and Alpine Type X's. I have the Alpine's in my truck and they sound great. JL looks like they have a really nice Class D amp coming this spring! Thinking bout this one.

glideman, sorry to jump ahead but...how are mounting the head unit?? biketronics brackets or ??
Don't know yet....
Got any suggestions?
the only thing i know of out there is the biketronics brackets. rumor is they can be bought seperately for $50.
i'd think you could build something for less $$. in looking at the brackets, they look to be flat stock w/ holes for the hu mounting and holes to mount into the hd bracket.

post pics of what you do. i'm looking into a mild system for mine and will be fabbing up brackets if needed...

Have you had a chance to start dialing in that system and give it a listen?

I have JL's in my car Coax in the doors 6x9 in deckand a 500/1v2 with W710in sub. The system is nice. I was interested in the some of the new JL stuff. I would be interested int eh new "Flat Sub" for a saddlebag a 12in with a 2.5 in depth http://mobile.jlaudio.com/jlaudio_pages.php?page_id=213

GlideMan,I like the bag lining work, it should really minimize echo or resonance. Are your enclosures vented? Or are you getting enough air in from the dsus-fittings around the bolts? I had to wire out-of-phase push-pull duals in my enclosure to eliminate the need for venting, but you have only one sub in each cabinet. Are you using a StraightWire product to minimize loss? Please don't say it's MonsterWire. So far, this should get the trophy for Post Of The Month, in my opinion.
