Chief,Be sure to look up Dennis Thomas and Ed Johnson. Both are Navy guys on active duty and they are the chapter Director and Asst director. I am still a member of Northwest Florida HOG. Be sure to tell them Mack sent you . Chief Charlie the Road captain and Warren Lipscomb are also Navy retired guys. There are many more as Pensacola is a Navy town.Go to: pensacolahog.com and check out the website.
Look me up when you get into town or PM me. I am the Director of the HOG Chapter here in Pensacola and we would be more than happy to have you as a guest on our rides. I work out at the Navy Hospital and can help you get into touch with many folks.
Pensacola is a great place to retire. Can't beat the year round riding and our HOG chapter is one of the best. View the web site for local rides at www.pensacolahoh.com. If you get down here soon you can join us on our Key West trip leaving the 20th of January. Give me a shout if you have any questions about the local area.
Pensacola is my home town and although I haven't lived there for 35 years, I still get back a couple times a year to visit relatives. I would move back ther myself but the wife's relatives all live in the Tampa area.
Sprawl has taken it's toll but it's still a good place to live with lots of outdoor activities.
Definitely year-round riding - rare that there is any ice. But the humidity in the winter can freeze your a** off. Used to commute from Pcola to Milton when I was much younger. But i didn't use a windshield then so younger=stupider. Also rode rice but fortunately times have changed.
I've been in and out of Pensacola with the Navy many times over the years. I'm stuck in Africa on an IA at the moment, but I'll be back home in another month. Great place to ride, beautiful weather, and a real Navy town - the current mayor is a former Blue Angel.
Congratulations on retirement. I have lived in South Baldwin County, Alabama. Half way between Pensacola and Mobile. Great location. Ride all year long. Access to both Pensacola HOG and Mobile HOG also have a new Harley shop in Daphne, Alabama 15 miles north. COME ON DOWN!
Chief,
Welcome to the good life. I retired back in 88 and have loved being in Pensaola. being an old New Yorker, you can't beat the year round riding we have here.
If your even on NAS, come by the new Fitness Center and look up the Athletic Director, I usually have my 08 Ultra in the parking lot so come in and I'll buy you a cup of coffee.
