Lessons Learned After Tonight's Field Sobriety Test
On another note, the test with the pen has nothing to do withthe ability to hold your head still.
Glad it worked out for the driver.Glad the cops were out there doing their jobs. You see, my family uses the same roads drunks do.
Of the many times I've been pulled over only once haveI been guilty and let go and twice I was guilty and admitted it up front. The others were pure harassment in my car. Was issued citations for every one and finally got tired of it so I went to court which required me to take 2 days off from work asI travel throughout the US. Drive 3 hours one way only to be mocked in the courtroom by the female officer and female judge in attendance. Total cost was around $1165.00 for lost wages and expenses including the fine for speeding. I started video taping patrol cars on the freeway before I went to court flying past me at high rates of speed, some up to 15 over the speed limit and still pulling away from me. I also offered this after the verdict and the judge stated that she could care less what the officers were doing on the road. I then asked what the rules were on patrol cars without emergency and without lights flying down the freeway and she told me ifI wanted to know the library upstairs was full of law books and I was more than welcome to go start reading. She then ordered me to not say another word and leave her courtroom and pay on the way out. Now lets recap......been broken into 6 times only to wait 6 hours for a patrol car and then no evidence was ever taken. Stolen items never recovered from home or cabin or an update or report. Letters in the mail stating I need to take drivers training classes( I drive 50Ka year plus work at least a 40 week) Never been in an accident that was caused by me. To protect and to serve indeed.............
OK I feel better now..................pssst, wanna by tickets for the ball?
I know exactly how you feel. Was stopped recently after allegedly rolling through a stop sign. I had to sit at the intersection and wait for cross traffic to clear. When the officer stated why he pulled me over I told him I had to wait quite a while to pull out, there was no way I rolled through the sign. He then advised me that I should "expect" to be stopped, because of the colors on my back. I gues a M/C affiliation makes me guilty of any traffic violation an officer wants to make up. He comes back from his cruiser and tells me because of my excellent driving record he cut me a break and wrote me for "impeding traffic". No points, just a $150.00 fine. No sense in trying to fight it in court, he'll just lie anyway. Paid the fine...
Yes, impaired driving is a problem. But today, I would say that stoopid driving is even worse of a problem, but you don't see anyone getting pulled over for tailgating at 75MPH. It doesn't pay as well.
My Favorites:
1) As they're leaving the watering hole they pull up to the road with 1/3 of the car sticking out out your lane.
2) Waits at the exit from the bar until you are close then pulls out.
3) After pulling out in front of you drives 5 to 8 MPH below the speed limit.( I guess to make up for pulling out in front of you)
4) If you try to pass the drunk in the lane next to himbecause he's to slow. He looks at you in his side mirror and comes over in your lane. ( Stay behind the drunk)
5) Once in a while you get a fast one who continuously bounces of curbs and takes all lanes.
6) If there is someone besidesthe driver they will constanly crane their necks to look at you; I guess to see if you're a Cop.
Now that's entertainment and it does shorten the ride home.
Ride well,
Jim

I may be a bit jaded, but I think the tip was that too many officers, overstuffed on do-nuts, fail to go after the REAL criminals, and continue to harass honest citizens just because it's easier. Aint that the way YOU read that?
nogood o~`o
Yep good pointers indeed. Here are a few more.
Ask the LEO if he minds if you lean on his car while doing the 1 legged test.
Always be sure to hold your nose still with one hand while attempting to touch it with the other.
And finally, make sure the ole kick stand is down before getting off the bike.
Thes will insure your kept warm on a nice, cold night.
The original post does indeed give goodpointers . . . wear a jacket when it's cold out and if you weave in your lane in the middle of the night you might get pulled over. Sounds good to me.
