I recently had to replace the front fender tip light wire. I removed the brake calipers, wheel, & fender according to the shop manual. Installed the new wire and reassembled everything according to themanual & everything was correct. I recently checked the wire to make sure the fix worked and found that the wheel is offset relative to the fender. The right side of the tire is approx. 1/8" from the fender and the other side is approx. 1/2". The spacers are correctly installed according to the book. Is this normal? I didn't check the clearancebefore or after reassembly, as I had no idea this would be a concern.
Mine is exactly the same way. It's closer the the left side if sitting on the bike. About a 1/4" difference.
