I have had Goldwings in the past and yes they are vibration free, I currently have a 2006 EGC and have no problems with vibrations.
There are vibrations and there are vibrations.
Most sports bike suffer from a buzzing vibration which will cause numbness in your handsand fatigue over long distances.
The EGC has more of a throb rather than a vibration and as others have stated once off idle the EGC is very smooth whilst you can still feel the engine working it is by no means an unpleasant feeling, the reverse actually it feels good.
Take a test ride on a 08 which is even smoother than my 06.
Only vibration at idle. When you take off, she's as smooth as glass. No problems whatsoever when cruising. I love mine just the way it is. As others have posted, just the soul of the bike when it's idleing.
07 EGC vibration in floor boards. Its at the shop now engine tore down to check cam. Nothing found out of spec. I added IDS which helped but there was still a subtle vibration in the boards that wasnt there when i bought the bike. Any ideas?
I only feel a little vibration at idle. Rubber mounted engine. No problem going 3000 miles in a week.
Now my Sporty is a completely different story. More old school. Solid mount engine, and yes, plenty of vibration. Great all around town bike, would not go touring with it though...
I developed repetitive stress injury in both my wrists. At the time, I could only ride my shovelhead for 45 minutes without searing pain from the vibrations. Bought the Glide, could ride all day without issue.
I think they're really smooth - probably not Gold Wing smooth (never ridden one), but smooth...
Ride one - it'll be no comparison to your sporty.
