I put the Biketronics kit in my FLHT and am very pleased with it. I don't know for sure but believe the Police model is not wired for a stereo. Give Mike a call at biketronics he is a good guy and will have all the answers......
I put one in a couple of weeks ago. Pretty straightforward install. I have the Sony GT 520, I believe. Works and sounds great, especially whe using it in CD mode.
Make sure you have a set of torx heads and you really need the ball-end allen wrenches for the install. The ball-ends will make it go ALOT SMOOTHER!!
Oh ya, and make sure you istall EVERYTHING (that means the radio, too) from the "guts" side of the fairing. The radio won't line up properly if you try and slide in from the front......trust me..;-)
Dbear: The police model EG doesn't have the radio harness that the civilain models come with so the Biketronics interface unit is useless on an unmodified police model EG. If you want to have handlebar controls of a stereo, I wrote this up when I did my '04 FLHTPI Biketronics installation:
If you want a simple installation (no handlebar controls of the headunit), buy the headunit of your choice, some HD speaker adatpters, antennaand speakers--and install it--you simply tap a power and ground for the headunit.
