I did my '02 RK and what a huge difference! Used the MoCo kit. You don't have to pull the case off as described in the installation instructions... you can bend the spring just enough to slide it through the hole. Makes for a quick mod.
I put it in my '02 RK. It made a big difference. Wasn't too bad of an install. Most difficult part of the install to me was removing the exhaust in order to remove the tranny cover and fighting with that large snap ring. Get yourself a good pair of snapring pliers.
Bought the HD kit with the ramp and clutch spring. Just finished installing the ramp assembly. Dealer quoted 4 hours so I sez "sheet I'll do that one". Installing the ramp was very easy- but know this- you have to drop the entire exhaust (on the '02 Road King) and it aint fun doing it the first time. I think I spent the most time trying to figure out how to do it without dropping the whole exhaust- I decided it couldn't be done. Second time will be a charm.

Could you explain how you bend the spring to get it out through the hole? Hope that the spring takes less time than dropping the exhaust and changing the ramp.....

The entire exhaust doesn't have to be pulled. If you can get a bit creative with the exhaust 'loose', you will be able to access the clutch cover.
I keep hearing ppl say that the clutch spring can be installed without removing the outer primary cover - but have not done-so myself.
As the others have said - this is a GREAT mod. I have installed it on my '99 RK and on my Pop's '04 UC. The effrot to pull is reduced significantly (I seem to recal H-D claiming 40%) and you still have good feel to the lever. I recently rode an Ultra Classic with a hydraulic clutch - and the pull was a bit easier than mine...but I thought that there was less 'feedback' from the hydraulic set-up. That could just be me & my own jacked-up perception...but Ijust don'tlike the feel of a 'soft' clutch.
With fuel managment and a 96", you can cause your clutch to slip using the lighter spring. I burnt my clutch up at 6K with the 08 stock spring, power commander and the Fuel Moto setup. Just an FYI.
Installed one for a customer on her sporty a couple days back. Almost too easy pulling the clutch lever after installation.Make sure you double check the clearance to the primary cover if you ever put on on an XL. Had todo a little work on theouter primary cover to make sure there wouldn't be any problems. I'm used to the normal effort pull so I'm not sure I'd want this mod for myself but damn was the customer thrilled with the result.
Would love to put this on mine..but it's a '94.. I noticed that the part number is for bikes only down to a '99.. do they make a kit for the older bikes? anyone have the part number?
( Yes..I did search..but only came up with posts from ppl who had a '99 or newer..)
