Had a rather quick snow/ice "event" last night, the roads QUICKLY were covered and then froze. I was sipping a warm cup of joe looking outside when I see a guy on a crotch rocket going past the house. He had his feet flat on the road and was doing about 30MPH..... I've been caught in snow before but not where the road was covered and freezing........ most likely he got caught out in it too, but for this old fart, he sure was going fast. I just know I would be trying to pick my Glide up off the street on the ice, and I also know it would drop a few times more just trying to pick it up.....it's still an ice rink out there. Hope he made it home ok........
I'm also in the same area and last night would not have been fun. I had toyed with taking the Road King to work yesterday as the rain wasn't supposed to hit until evening. Opted for the Jeep though and glad I did. Left work (SODO) at 3:45 and it was raining hard with lots of fiber in it Headed to Eastside Harley to pick up some bling and by the time I got on 405 it was snowing big-time! By the time I got to Bothell at 5:30 it was sticking and the side streets were slick as hell. There is no way I would have made it back to the house on the bike.
I did see a couple of guys on 405 though and really felt for them. One guy on a Heritage had pulled over to wipe the snow from his facemask before merging back into the mix.
