On my 2008 Ultra I got an adjustable and reccomend it highly... The height is kinda tricky (5 position) andI ended up shimming up the height as I am 6'3" and needed a little higher support point... I am 230 lbs and push hard on the back rest on long trips to get re-situated... no problems...

I have the adjustable and I am glad I spent the money to have it added. You can also use the adjustable backrest with a mustang seat.
I had the fixed one on my Road King and had no complaints with that one either. I just really like being able to move the backrest after a few hours in the seat if I want to.

Fixed didn't lean back far enough for me. Adj, a big improvement IMO.

Adjustable and the sundowner - love it. For the short solo trips I throw the corbin solo on and usually can't wait to put the other back on[:@] - but it looks good.

Looks like either one will work. I have the adjustable and it normally stays where its at but on my trip to Ohio it was nice to move it. I have had no problems with any rattles or breakage.

Regardless of which way you go, it made a ton of difference on my Street Glide. Plus at the time I didn't have a passenger backrest or luggage rack so it gave me a place to slip the T bag on. Worked fine, lasts a long time.

I'm quite happy with my adjustable and the rattle in the mount doesn't matter to me because it only does it when I'm not actuallyriding the bike. What I don't know is if you want to strip down to the SG look can youchange out to a different seat and not have the mount in the way. Maybe someone else could weigh in on that?

+1 to Timex. I have a very bad back and also use the Mustang Adjustable. It makes all the difference in the world to be able to select a slightly different back position for some period of time during a long ride. Around town it stays pretty much in place. I did cut 3/4 inch off the backrest slide bar to put the rest at a slightly lower position. Love my Mustang Back Rest! .......... BC
