Default EITMS

Anybody heard about this? Apparently all touring models manufactured in December 2007, and afterwards, have this system standard. It's basically the same as the dealer downloded "parade mode", which shuts down the rear cylinder if the engine temperature reaches a certain level, such as when crawling in stop and go traffic. The EITMS in the new bikes, is installed already, and can be turned on or off by the operator, with a throttle turning sequence, while engine is off, and ignition in the run position. The engine will resume normal operation, as soon as the temp reaches the safe level, or the throttle is twisted past a certain point, or if the tranny is in gear and the clutch is released, or if the speed exceeds 1 or 2 mph. I'll try to find the link to the bulletin, and I'll post it later.

Nope. First I've heard of it. Interesting though. I'd like to know more. Thanks for the heads up!

You can turn it off and on with the SERT. The dealer can turn it on and off with the digital technition. Not sure it can be done with any throttle turning sequence though.

That was before. Now, you can do it yourself with the throttle.

It's a one time in and out if you don't like it for free. After that the customer pays.

Not any more. If you look at the attachment that Kroozer posted it looks like you down load the free revision and after that you can turn it on and off at will. No SERT, no digital tech, just a simple throttle sequence. [&:]

That's how I read it. Makes me think the MoCo must feel it is somewhat important if they are making it user selectable on all bikes now.
