Congrats on the Classic, you will love it after you add a seat, handlebarstimes 3, stage one, true duals, different shocks, and all the other chrome add-ons. Then you will start looking for a fairing, trust me I speak from experence.
Congrats! Mine has been sitting at the dealer since December...lol I can't even look at when I want yet. Still waiting on some back ordered parts. I am in no rush though as it will not hit 20 for days yet here in New York. Can't wait for april/may
how much of PITA was it to remove the wind deflector...? Been thinking of doing that myself
thanks

dude, its simple. i bought the handlebar cover off ebay for around 20 bucks, and you will need a new spear trim, that ran 15 from zanottis.
all you have to do is remove the headlight. then take off the trim ring around the handlebar lock to expose the 2 screws that hold it on. there are 2 nuts ( i believe, its been a while) holding the spear to the top of the nacelle. take those 2 off, then remove it all as one unit. the new spear only has one nut holding it on, and its a push nut (i didn't order one of those from zanotti's, had to hunt it down at the local hardware store). i took mine off because i rarely ride without the windshield so didn't see much need for the chrome deflector.
My new spear trim has a nut that goes to a stud in front and a nut and screw in the back. The screw with the nut on the back of the spear can be a PITA to reinstall but I have a tip. Double over a piece of electircal tape so it is sticky side out and a little larger than the nut and washer. Stick the nut and washer aligned together to the tape then the tape to your finger. Then reach in through the headlight opening and lign up the nut and washer with the hole in the nacelle, start the screw and youre home free. This screw is directly over the neck nut so space makes the tape trick necesary.
