The more I started looking into this, the more options I see are available. Not to mention the opinions on different systems as well.

For the back, I'm leaning more toward the Arnott or the Platinum Air. Just need to do some more researching and find out a littlebit more about them. I don't want another DragginBagger burn to happen to me.

For the front, the Race Tech sounds reallynice, but the site is kind of confusing as to what you need, what fits etc.

GliderXXX: What parts did you get for your bike? Was there a kit for the emulators AND the springs?

Kern - Looks like you have good advice here. I am running the Progressive Suspension springs in front at a 1" drop. Rides good. I am running stock weight oil, and am considering going to a little heavier weight to stiffen it up some. Just an experiment I'm thinking of. Have never heard anything but positive reviews on the Race Tech stuff as well.

I know Bart (Shooter64) is carrying the Arnott system. He has been impressed with it from what I have read from him. You know if he is carrying them 1) you will get a great price and 2) if there is anything wrong with them he will take care of you.

If you haven't dealt with Bart before, you owe it to yourself to contact him. Great guy and can probably get you the full meal deal at a great price.

BTW - Your bike will look completely sick dropped. I can't wait to see it.

Kern...yes for about $275 shipped direct from Race Tech. I agree, they're site is very confusing. I called them and you might want to do the same. They'll want to know weight, 2up riding percentage etc., to give you the correct size. I went with .95KG for a blend of performance and softer ride. At my weight 190 I'm right in the middle between .95 and 1.0. After telling him that performance was important, but I liked a smooth ride he said I definitely wanted to go the .95KG route. Talked with Bryan TTM and that is the size he went with as well and we are roughly the same size. The part number for my 08 SG, and can't imagine why yours would be different, is:
FLEK S3895. The phone number is: 951-279-6655.

Ric...I "think" $210, but I honestly don't remember.

I'm thinking about going ahead and having Cliff install the wheels as well as the Race Techvs having Wes do them. By the time I ride my bike out to Weatherford, kill time waiting, and then hoping his guy checked the fender fit, balanced and mounted the tires properly, etc., rode it back to NRH, had Cliff remove the front tire and wheel a second time to install the Race Tech kit, it starts to get a bit complicated. I'm probably costing myself $175-$200 but I just think I'd feel better having someone I know and trust doing the work. I did ask Cliff about going ahead and installing the Race Tech now before the new wheels are here and installed and he said he would prefer to install the Race Tech kit with the new wheels on the bike.

Still not sure though...I have a hard time passing up free

Have you looked at the Arnott air ride system?

I started looking at it today. What all did you order? Your shocks look different than the kit. What do you think so far? Any insight is greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Bart is a great guy. I have got some really good deals on stuff from him.

I can't wait to see it lowered as well. By the way, the suspension is only about 1/10th of what is being done to it this winter. [8D]

Kern,
I have been looking at air suspension kits too and of all the kits I have investigated, I am leaning toward the "new" Arnott systems. Going from memory, on my first cup of coffee [sm=insomnia.gif], it is built on a shock, it has adjustable dampening (not the QA1 system) and they will build it to any size you want and install bump stops where you want. The price for chrome and black is the same (I am sure you would want the black ), you get your choice of a handle bar mounted controller or toggle switch, etc. They have 3" of travel, 1.5" up and 1.5" down. Someone here on the forum has said that 9.5" puts you on the fender so I am thinking an 11.5" shock with bump stops at 10" would be a great all around shock.

Give Frank a call at Arnott.

RJ, you're saying they can build you any LENGTH of shock? Wow! I gotta call these guys. What do you mean about adjustable dampening? How do you adjust it? Are you talking about the $999 shocks, or the $698 shocks? This system is sounding better all the time.

Jerry,
I talked to Frankat Arnott a few weeks ago.....I also talked to AirFX, Tricky, Platinum. I heard a rumor that Arnott hada "newer" system that is not on their website or ebay. Its true. They arenow offering an air systemthathas 11 way adjustable rebound dampening (not the old QA1 system) which is accomplished with a small adjuster (****) on each shock. You cannot adjust the rebound on the fly like you could on a Platinum system. Yes,Arnott will build you ashock at yourdesired length and place bump stops per your preference for no extra charge. This particular set-up is $999 and comes ineither black or chrome. You can get it with a three way toggle switch, a handle bar mounted controller (I have not seen it) or a handle bar mounted membrane controller for an additional $40 (I willask Frank for pics of the controller options....considering none of this is on their website). They offer a 30 day money back guarantee and a 5 year warranty. They are a big name in the air suspension industry and do their own R&D on shop bikes.

I am not selling or promoting Arnott just passing on what I was told. I know Bart likes the Arnott stuff and from what I can tell, it looks like a contender.

Adios,
RJ
