Couldn't make it
during last three miles had intermittent blowing snow across the road.
That wasn't too bad just had to slow down for the expected ice with it.
But at 33 miles you'll see and understand why I had to turn back.
I very cautiously road through the first plowed drift, cleared the summit there and saw what was ahead. Looked the same for the next 3 or 4 miles that I could see.
winds came up so bad couldn't hardly keep bike on the road at 5 mph.
So turned around and went to town. shopped, saw friends and had a free beer, because I was the only one out riding.
But no war, G/F took truck to town to gas up and go shopping. Get ready for work next week.
first pic at about 20 miles out looking up the canyon.

This one I am on top of the plateau, looking at the summit ahead.

This is the snow drift that had just been plowed. the next is the amount I had already rode through to get here. rode about another 1/4 mile and was through it. But there was much much more ahead, so had to turn around. Camera quit working, suppose it was the extreme cold. It's a Sony Mavicsa with the mini CD.

didn't hit it until about 7500 feet elevation.
It wasn't snowing here either.
The winds came up hard and drifted snow across.
I turned around and went back down hill.
