HD part # 91945-98B says they fit 96-later FLHT and FLHTCU. Was there an inner fairing change in 96? Has anyone installed them on an 05?
I've got em on my 05 EGC. Easy enough install, and I love em! they look so much better..........really cleans things up. No probs for me with vibration. If anything, I think the vibes are less with the fairing mount. Readily recommend the fairing mount mirrors.
My fairing mount 08 Street Glide mirrors work great.. BUT.... I have them spread to see wide and cover blind spots.. so then I have to bend my head over to see directly behind me.. I am thinking about adding handlebar mirrors. but can't seem to find ones that go almost straight up to clear the other ones.. (to low and out).. Considering the Kuryakyn fairing trim mount ones.. but want to see them installed on somebodys bike before I spring for the bucks..!! (that would solve my problem though.)
I am 6'-5" tall and 240 lbs., with wide shoulders. My 2008 FLHX Street Glide has them and they do not vibrate while moving, I can see clearly at anything above idle. They stay set too. I am surprised because I thought they would be troublesome, but no problems yet! I prefer the looks also - not to see mirrors sticking up and out somewhere.
My bike had the fairing mount mirrors on it when I bought it. I'm a big guy and with the addition of the longer Wild1's chubby bars 575's, they became almost useless. Now I have both until I get some tweeters to fill the holes in the fairing that the mirrors leave.
