Default taller bars and stock cables

I nearly finished my 'in the fairing projects yesterday. Just have to button up the batwing and tune the PCIII and the bike is done.

The biggest part of the project was the installation of Khrome Werks 300505 +2 Sweeper bars. Friday night I drilled them to hide the wiring. Pretty straight forward. Instead of taking the throttle cables loose, I ran the right side wiring at the bike, not on the bench. That all went pretty well. I loosened the ignition switch to remove the original bars and put the new ones in place.

I like my bars pretty low so I had to adjust the controls as such. I was able to keep the stock clutch cable by rerouting it behind and over the upper triple clamp and between the inner fairing and all the bracketry. It came out pretty well. I don't think I'll have any trouble with it. The brake line was similarly simple. Just rebend the upper part and you're good to go.

My biggest issue was with the throttle cables. After I adjusted them to be sure I had WOT, it took a bit of doing to have the throttle snap closed at maximum left turn. The return cable is pretty loose and it's a bit hesitant to snap shut but other than at maximum left @ WOT and all is well.

Anyone have any troubles getting their stock throttle cables to work? I was more concerned about the clutch!

On my 04 with 300505's I found the throttle too tight for my liking and ended up changing them out. With my 08 I don't have that problem anymore[8D] Here's the part numbers for what I used.

Clutch=38649-98
Throttle=38650-98
Idle=56730-03

Dawg,
&nbsp\\;
Did you get the same Khrome Werks sweeper +2 bars?&nbsp\\; Shows as part #300515 for an '08 Ultra through Khrome's website.&nbsp\\; Shows part #0601-0841 for Drag Specialties crossreference on Khrome's website.&nbsp\\;
&nbsp\\;
I want bars back toward me either 2 or 3 inches.&nbsp\\; How do the sweeper +2 bars compare to the stock bars?&nbsp\\; They put your hands back a bit as well as higher up?&nbsp\\; I imagine if they're putting your hands higher, you could really fit them to you by rotating them up and down until you're satisfied.&nbsp\\;
&nbsp\\;
I feel like I'm reaching just a little too much.&nbsp\\; I'm 5'8" but I do reach the ground flat footed on my stock '08 Ultra.&nbsp\\; Maybe it's just that my arms are too short!
&nbsp\\;
gwcrim,
&nbsp\\;
Same questions.
&nbsp\\;
Thanks for any input guys.&nbsp\\;
